Master Page Help

Master Page is a page layout app for Windows. It opens, edits and saves IDML files — the open interchange format of professional page layout — with the palettes and commands a layout designer expects.

Help inside the app

Help ▸ Master Page Help (F1) opens these pages in your browser, in the language of the app when a translation is available. Help ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts opens the list of every command that carries a keyboard shortcut, generated from the app's own menus; Edit ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts… (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+K) shows the same list inside the app. Help ▸ Other Apps opens the page of the other apps.

Two editions

Master Page for Windows comes in two editions built from the same code, with the same commands, palettes and documents:

• the WinUI edition, with the menu bar in the title bar of the window — the one installed from the Microsoft Store or with the MSIX installer;
• the classic edition, with the standard Windows menu bar, distributed as a zip.

Both run on x64 and ARM64 PCs. Everything on these pages applies to both.

Windows and Mac

Master Page for Windows is the Windows version of Master Page for the Mac and has the same commands. On Windows, the Command key becomes Ctrl, Option becomes Alt and Control-click becomes a right-click; Settings… is Edit ▸ Preferences… (Ctrl+K); Quit is File ▸ Exit (Ctrl+Q); About Master Page, Check for Updates… and Send Feedback… are in the Help menu. Each document opens in a maximized window; File ▸ Open Recent lists the documents you worked on last. Documents are ordinary files on this PC.
