Master Page Help

Master Page is a page layout app for Android. It opens, edits and saves IDML files — the open interchange format of professional page layout — with the palettes and commands a layout designer expects.

Help inside the app

Help ▸ Master Page Help (Ctrl+Shift+/ or F1) opens these pages in your browser, in the language of the app when a translation is available. Help ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts opens the list of every command that carries a keyboard shortcut, generated from the app's own menus; Edit ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts… (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+K) shows the same list inside the app. Help ▸ Other Apps opens the page of the other apps.

Tablets, Chromebooks and phones

Master Page is made for a large screen with a keyboard and a mouse or trackpad — a Chromebook, a Googlebook or a large tablet — and has the full menu bar and the floating palettes of the Mac. Each document opens in a window of its own that you can resize, snap to one side or show full screen. On a phone the same layout is shown at a smaller size.

With a finger or a stylus, pinch to zoom, drag with two fingers to scroll, and touch and hold for the context menu.

Android and Mac

Master Page for Android is the Android version of Master Page for the Mac and has the same commands. On Android, the Command key becomes Ctrl, Option becomes Alt and Control-click becomes a right-click; Settings… is Edit ▸ Preferences… (Ctrl+K); About Master Page and Send Feedback… are in the Help menu. There is no Quit command: close the window. Master Page is updated by Google Play.

Documents are ordinary files: open them from the system file picker or the Files app — on this device, on a memory card or on Google Drive — and File ▸ Open Recent lists the documents you worked on last. Master Page for Android has no syncing of its own: a document stored on Google Drive is opened and saved there like any other file.
