Keyboard Shortcuts

Every shortcut wired into Pdf Editor Pro 26.5.2 on Windows, menu by menu. Each ⌘ became Ctrl and each ⌥ became Alt, item for item — and where a command deliberately has no chord, it says so rather than leaving a blank. The same list lives inside the application, under Edit › Keyboard Shortcuts….

Three chords deliberately left off

Three commands have no Windows shortcut on purpose, because guessing one would be worse than leaving it out — you would learn a chord that changes under your fingers later. All three are one click away in their menus.

Export with Compression… and Export Word (.docx)… — their chords use a modifier that is already Ctrl on a PC, so the whole tail of the Export ladder would have to be reassigned. Until that decision is made, the two items carry no chord.

Paste In Front — its chord would be Ctrl F, which on Windows means Find. Find keeps it; Paste In Back keeps Ctrl B.

Redaction has no shortcut at all, and that is not an omission: it is the one command that removes content for good, so it always costs a trip to the menu.

Keyboards, and two chords worth knowing about

Ctrl [ and Ctrl ] (the four Arrange commands) are wired only when your keyboard layout produces those brackets on a bare key, as US and UK layouts do. On an Italian, German or French layout, where they need AltGr, the chord is not registered at all rather than firing something else — the four commands stay available from the Object menu.

Ctrl Alt → / ← (Rotate Pages) are kept as written. Two warnings: on a European keyboard AltGr produces exactly Ctrl+Alt, and some graphics drivers claim these same chords for rotating the screen. Flagged rather than silently changed.

Zoom: Ctrl with the + and − keys works, and so does the numeric keypad. Ctrl with the scroll wheel zooms on the page.

On many laptops the F-row is multimedia by default, so F1, F5 and F7 may need Fn.

Tab does two jobs, and never both at once: inside a form it moves to the next field, and outside one it hides or shows every palette. It never hides palettes while you are typing.

Space ticks the checkbox under the keyboard focus. On a group of radio buttons it moves the focus rather than choosing the option — click the one you want, or use the Fill arrow.
