Vector Designer 26.20 for Windows is on the Windows page today and reaches existing copies through Help › Check for Updates. It closes two defects in the welcome card that the 26.19 release had left open, both reproduced and re-verified on the real application with real clicks.
The illustration is back
In installed copies the welcome card and the About box showed only the sky, without the mountains. The folder holding the images was looked up once, too early, and an empty answer was kept for the life of the process. The lookup now repeats until it succeeds, a failed attempt is no longer remembered, and the card asks for its picture again on the next frame.
The card closes the way you expect
The close button, Esc, Enter and the buttons on the card had stopped working: a click was being read after the mouse capture had already been released. They work again, a click on the illustration or on empty space closes the card, and a click anywhere else in the application still closes it and reaches its target.
Installed copies update themselves
Since the Windows page moved to a single signed installer, a copy installed from it could only be told that a new version existed. From 26.20 it downloads the new signed installer, checks its signature and hands it to Windows, which updates the app in place. Copies unzipped from the portable archive keep updating as before.
