Tools that keep working
- After a right-click menu on the canvas, the Rectangular and Elliptical Marquee, the Gradient and the other drag tools could stop responding in that window until it was closed. They now keep working.
- When the Gradient, the Line or a Marquee cannot apply — a locked layer, a selection that misses the layer — a message now says why, instead of a beep.
- Pin Warp in Affine mode keeps a clean preview with two pins, instead of black and white specks.
What you see
- A photo layer set to Screen or Multiply, with nothing visible under it, no longer shows the transparency grid through it.
- The title marks unsaved changes after every layer edit, the same way closing the document does.
- Layer thumbnails follow Image › Rotate and Flip on square images.
Windows and dialogs
- In Save As, the layered formats (TIFF, PSD, PSB, OpenRaster) stay in view at the top of the format list.
- A new document window opens on the same screen as the current one, and cascades when that one is not maximized.
- Dialogs can be moved, Layer Style and Blending Options show a live preview, and adjustment layers use sliders.
- A newly opened document stays in front, and menus no longer stay stuck after a command.
Also in this release
- Image Size and Canvas Size work in inches, centimetres, millimetres, points and picas.
- Crop with Delete Cropped Pixels turned off can bring back the pixels outside the canvas.
- Edit › Transform has Scale, Rotate, Skew, Distort and Perspective; Ctrl+Enter turns the current path into a selection.
- Smart filters such as Gaussian Blur are kept when a document is saved as PSD or OpenRaster.
- The History Brush, the Healing Brush and the Clone Stamp say what they need when there is no source.
- The Feedback text box behaves like a normal text field: select, scroll, copy and paste.
- A graphics driver reset no longer closes the app.
