Saving and undo

Every action is one labelled step, so undo takes back exactly what you did — a whole markup, a whole page move — and the Edit menu names it. Saving writes your changes onto the end of the original file: the bytes you started from stay untouched, a document you did not edit is byte-for-byte the file you opened, and an existing digital signature survives a Save (but not a Save As or Export — see §2).
